Joybound’s Shelter to Service program trains specially selected shelter dogs to become psychiatric service dogs and facility animals. Through the power of the human-animal bond, these smart, loving animals help people diagnosed with emotional and mental health conditions find a new *leash* on life — at no cost to the program participant.
 
This event offers a special opportunity to celebrate National Service Dog Month while learning about and supporting a program that directly benefits our local community. The event is open to mental health and wellness professionals and all community members interested in learning firsthand about the unique and powerful role shelter animals can play in mental and emotional health and wellness. 

 Learn how training shelter dogs to become psychiatric service animals has a profound positive impact on animal and human lives.

• Meet mental health professionals, Shelter to Service program partners, and some of the incredible service animals making a difference in the community.
• Tour Joybound’s state-of-the-art facility and see firsthand the care and training that goes into preparing these service animals.
• Discover how fulfilling it can be to foster and train a Shelter to Service dog who can offer people diagnosed with emotional and mental health conditions find a new *leash* on life.
• Support a worthy cause. JUNKED: Powered by Veterans will be on-site offering e-waste disposal services, with all proceeds donated to support Joybound’s programs.
