Welcome to 86 Magazine. After eight years of publishing our award-winning 110 Magazine for East Contra Costa readers, we are thrilled to launch the first issue of our 86 (February/March 2011). This publication is the result of years of wishing and months of planning... Our bimonthly publication will serve all the cities in Central County with Walnut Creek as the hub. You will discover within these pages that our 86 Magazine differentiates itself from every other publication in that we are dedicated to showcasing the fascinating people, services, and places in our Central County communities. Every article in our magazine seeks to provide some informative, interesting, and often fascinating perspective on local people and places. We showcase elements of the rich lifestyle that the Central County region offers, providing positive and uplifting content, together with compelling layout and exciting photographs. The name comes from the fact that 86 is the average summertime temperature in Walnut Creek, which is one of he innumerable reasons why people love to live here. Our years of publishing 110 Magazine in East County provided us with lessons about how to effectively showcase people with exceptional perspectives on businesses, arts, or medicine or tell stories of sterling individuals who merely respond with dauntless faith and courage to some challenge or tragedy.
