Join us as we take a dip into our local creeks and pond to learn about the life and health of their ecosystems in the second installment of a free educational series for adults and children, Getting to Know Our Local Creeks, Ponds and Waterways. Discover how plants and wildlife adapt to their aquatic environments and learn how to protect them. The field trip meets at the pond at Heather Farm Community Park.
About the Series
The Gardens invites you and your kids to join us for a fun and informative series of FREE classes about our local watershed and preserving our environmental resources. Featuring six expert instructors and our own teaching staff and presented in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek, the series, Getting to Know Our Local Creeks, Ponds and Waterways, invites both adults and children to participate, with topics of interest to grown-ups, as well as interactive, hands-on activities specifically designed to engage younger audiences. Classes are held on Saturday and Sunday mornings in April and May at The Gardens at Heather Farm unless otherwise noted. Classes are FREE, but advanced registration is required.
