Shakespeare: 1623 and the First Folio – And the Women We May Have Lost

In 1623, Shakespeare’s two partners, John Heminges and Henry Condell, took Shakespeare’s plays to a printer. The result was what has become known as the First Folio. The First Folio contained virtually all the plays that Shakespeare had written, but many of those plays had not previously appeared in print. What would have been lost if Shakespeare’s two buddies had not sought out the printer? And which of Shakespeare’s incredible women might never have been known in the absence of the First Folio, celebrating its 400th anniversary in 1623? Mr. Jordan will illuminate all these issues in his engaging theatrical presentation.
