Today's adult program will highlight the impacts of traditional pest management methods and how to deal effectively with home and garden pests in a less-toxic way. With artifacts, games, stories and crafts, our kids program will bring the past alive and uncover how the first Californians used native plants in their everyday lives in the fourth installment of a free educational series for adults and children, Getting to Know Our Local Creeks, Ponds and Waterways.
About the Series
The Gardens invites you and your kids to join us for a fun and informative series of FREE classes about our local watershed and preserving our environmental resources. Featuring six expert instructors and our own teaching staff and presented in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek, the series, Getting to Know Our Local Creeks, Ponds and Waterways, invites both adults and children to participate, with topics of interest to grown-ups, as well as interactive, hands-on activities specifically designed to engage younger audiences. Classes are held on Saturday and Sunday mornings in April and May at The Gardens at Heather Farm unless otherwise noted. Classes are FREE, but advanced registration is required.
